about spike report

Introducing Spike Report, a spiking database to protect you and your mates on a night out. After recent incidents, we realised there was no viewable database on spikings in the UK. You can report an incident to the police, but you can’t view what others have reported.

With Spike Report, you can report a spiking incident but also view what others have submitted. Search by venue, city, or method of spiking. We’re all about giving you the info you need to have the safest night possible - including the date of the spiking so you know when it happened, where and how.

I went out for food with my boyfriend, my best friend and her boyfriend, we went for a drink afterwards, I had four drinks, I can’t remember anything past my first. I spent two hours vomiting, I was hallucinating and speaking gibberish. My boyfriend managed to get me home safe. I don’t know the exact venue I was spiked at, but the venue I started to vomit and hallucinate in did not help me.

Boy would not leave me alone and kept trying to take me to his friends, followed me into the bathroom (which was empty) with his friend and cornered me, it was only when my friend followed in 10 seconds after that they left. Apparently got bought multiple drinks by them however I only remember the first one and I’d not had a lot to drink beforehand. Also refused to let me go and kept trying to pull me back as my friend tried to get me to leave.

I was spiked at Leeds festival unsure how I had a bottle of water with me though and think something could’ve put into it. I was so unwell I was dizzy, throwing up, my vision was blurred. I spent 3 hours in the leeds festival medical tent unconscious and then had a 4 minute long seizure and had to have an ambulance called. I’m not from Leeds so when I woke up in the hospital I was so petrified it was awful. I haven’t been out since I go to work and college and then go home.

I was in a state where I was passing out, I could not walk, I could barely walk even with assistance, however I was unaware at the time I had been spiked, and most assumed I had drunk too much, however I only had one shot of vodka. The following day I felt awfully ill, my whole body was aching, especially my right arm I could not lift it above my head which is when i noticed the needle mark and slight bruising around the area. I was approached by multiple older men in the club who were persistent even after my constant middle fingers, and no’s. I have no idea who it may have been.

A man handed me the drink i ordered and spiked it. I blacked out (I did not drink nearly enough to black out) within 30 minutes. According to my friends i could not walk or talk by myself and ended up being told by security i was too drunk and should go home. They then told me to leave and didn't let me wait for my friends or an uber. I’m 5’1 100lbs and was totally alone. It was confirmed i was roofied

My mate was playing a show here last night so myself and my other mate went along. Prior to entering the venue I had 3 drinks and 1 once inside the venue, after this things started to get blurry and I don’t fully remember what happened, I remember going for a cig with my mate, going to the bar to get 1 more drink, watching one song of the main support who went on at 9:10pm and after that I remember nothing. The venue and security did an awful job at dealing with this situation, they told my mate that “if she dies there’s nothing we can do as there’s no female staff members on”, which is so out of line. I believe the venue called an ambulance which took 2 hours to arrive apparently, and this is the first thing I really remember which was speaking to the ambulance crew, which must have been after the gig had finished around 11pm but I’m not sure. I know for a fact I can drink a lot more than this and be fine, and based off being spiked in the past and how much body reacted I was definitely spiked. I threw up loads and got really hot, apparently I passed out for a while and was paralytic but I don’t remember that. Super grateful for my mate who stayed with me the whole time, if it wasn’t for her who knows what would’ve happened.

I had 2 drinks, I had half of the second one and that was it, I was gone. I don't remember anything at all, other than being really hot, until I woke up at 7am with someone 20 minutes away from my house. I just got up and left this house straight away. I know I left the club at 1:30am but have no memory of this time in between, other than a Snapchat image where my pupils were hugely dilated. I didn't realise I had been spiked until the next day when I saw the picture of me and I thought it was too late. So many people are spiked there but they shut it down all the time. I know of many incidents of spiking here.

I had three cans of beer which I drunk over a period of a few hours before heading to Venue. The only alcoholic drink I had in the club was a double JD and coke which I watched be poured and handed to me, later in the evening I had a glass of water. About ten minutes after drinking the glass of water I went to the toilet where my vision became completely blurred and then my legs gave way and I couldn't stand. I was escorted outside by a bouncer for being "too drunk", I have no recollection of anything after this. I was lucky a friend found me outside and took me home to look after me. I woke up the next day with chest pains, nausea and feeling very confused.

I don’t remember getting home. I woke up the next morning with cuts and bruises over my arms, vomit all over the bathroom and defecated underwear. This was not a drunken accident, no drugs were taken. Spikings in the lgbtq+ area in Belfast have become very common recently. Bar security saw me in a mess and kicked me out, all my belongings were still inside the bar. I was left alone, thankfully my friend was there and got me my things and helped me home. My friend then asked for them to check cctv and it was never done.

It was a freshers week club night at Kuda (now called Vinyl). There were lots of free alco-pops laid out as part of a new student welcome event that loads of club promoter-types seemed to be involved in organising. I was 18 when this happened, and a guy who I had assumed at the time was part of their group handed me a blue alco-pop, open, to play some sort of drinking game that involved lining up freshers in two different lines and getting us to drink the alco-pops one by one. The first line to finish would win. I backed out of this game because I cannot drink liquid quickly, alcoholic or not. I stood by the side and cheered on some of the other students playing, and drank my alco-pop, and that is the last thing I remember before coming to in a house I had never been to before, halfway across the city. I had lots of bruises on my knees. Later, when I sought to find out details of the night, a couple of other freshers who I confided some of this in said I had fallen a lot as we progressed from the club to some further bars and pubs, none of which I remember. They also said I had looked unwell and been taken outside a venue, where I was sick, but then I was brought back inside where I seemed 'kind of out of it but no longer nauseous'. As we had all just met that week, none of us were close yet and so they did not know exactly when I left. However, one other woman who was there that night said she too was confident she had been spiked, because she wound up confused in a supermarket car park without knowing how she got there.

Had only had half a can of drink and felt a prick in my back whilst in the club. Felt nothing of it until I felt absolutely drunk and my friend who could tell something was wrong asked me if I had been spiked or not. Went into the bathroom and saw a needle mark on my back and immediately knew.

I felt unwell, went to the toilets and realised very quickly that I was losing control of my movements. I called my husband to pick me up . Within 15 minutes of feeling funny I was unable to walk unaided and behaving erratically. Police helped my friend and husband get me off the streets and safe.

We went to Pryzm and I was spiked with an injection. I started my night at my uni accommodation and had a couple drinks. Then walked to the bus stop and was dropped into city centre. Then walked to Pryzm nightclub with my friends (I wasn’t alone at any time that I can remember). We queued for a while before we got into the nightclub at about 00:00. Whilst we were in the nightclub I got 2 shots and one vodka lemonade which I drank by the bar with my friends. We were on the dance floor for the majority of the time. I do recall saying to my friends that my arm hurt however I don’t know what time this was at. We left the club at around 3am and got an Uber back to my accommodation. We then spent a little while in the flat below us with some friends before I then went up to bed which was at around 3:30am. I then didn’t wake up until 14:30pm on Friday 30th October which, for me, is very unusual after a night out as I would normally wake up quite early. When I woke up I felt disoriented, drowsy, dizzy, and nauseous. However I just thought I must’ve been really tired and was just classic hangover symptoms so got up and went to freshers fair at Cardiff student union with my flatmates. They have since told me I wasn’t acting like myself and appeared tipsy. When I got back that’s when I realised I really wasn’t okay and my condition wasn’t getting any better. I thought I was overthinking it and was being dramatic but after examining my arm I found an injection mark on my upper arm, at which point everything all started to make sense as to why I was the way I was. I rang 111 who they told me to go to A&E in which My friend came with me in an Uber to the hospital and stayed with me the whole time. I was there for about 6 hours and was seen by the doctors who confirmed I had been spiked by an injection. They carried out physical health checks but there wasn’t anything they could do to help me and told me to report this all to the police and Pryzm nightclub. Then in the afternoon I got a call from the police asking me to do a drug test to see if anything showed up… it didn’t although bearing in mind this was a whole 24hr-30hrs after it had happened. I asked what they were testing for and they just said recreational drugs like cocaine, ketamine, thc etc. so when it came back all negative the two (male) policemen literally almost immediately dismissed me and everything I had told them and what the doctor had told me at a&e. He said that “oh you probably just had a little too much to drink and you can’t remember and that mixed with freshers flu might be why you’re not feeling very well”. Completely disregarding the fact I have an obvious needle injection wound on my upper arm, all the symptoms of being spiked and the doctor confirmed I had been. Honestly I just broke down as soon as they left because all I’ve been made to feel like is like it’s my fault and that I brought it on myself. Literally every single person of authority that I’ve spoken too have made my feel so small, unheard and in a way it feels like they gaslit me into thinking I must’ve drunk too much when it doesn’t all make sense when I look at my symptoms. I’m so traumatised and violated that someone did that to me and I’d hate to think what could’ve happened if I hadn’t stuck with my friends the whole night. . It’s brought up so many memories from when I was in secondary school and was sexually abused. This was the one thing that really has been worrying me about uni and it’s now happened in less than a week of being here. And I can’t even stand my ground and argue my point because no one will listen except my flatmates who’ve been with me through this whole time and seen my symptoms worsen, other students who’ve been through the same thing, and obviously my parents. It makes me feel sick knowing how massive this issue is and how prevalent it is yet there are no systems in place to ensure justice and safety. They didn’t do my bloods or anything when I was at the hospital and now what I’m worried about is the infection risk because who knows where that needle had been previously and what had actually been injected into me but I have asked several times now both the doctors and the police to get blood test but both have said I don’t need it and that I’ll be fine, the risk is low. I’m exhausted I’ve hardly slept over the past 48hrs yet I’ve had to spend my day phoning people, answering lots of questions just to be led to a dead end and feel like it’s all my fault. This has hurt me so much.

I arrived at the club around 11:45, I proceeded to buy one drink from the bar and after that I don’t remember a thing until waking up at 5am the next day. I bought 2 drinks that night and was found by my friends in the toilets, passing out and throwing up. We thought I had been spiked via my drink, but later found a needle mark on the back of my arm.

Got into the club at 1am due to a long line, got two drinks and on my way to give my flatmate a drink I’d got him I blacked out, apparently I then bought more drinks and went missing. I managed to pick up a phone call from my flatmate and told her I was in the bathroom and my other flatmate was on his way to get me (he wasn’t I’d imagined this). I wasn’t sexually assaulted but I do not remember a large period of the night as well as going missing for a period of time. I regained consciousness in a wheelchair in hospital and then had a 10hr wait due to a system error. I was told they couldn’t do anything for me and was then sent home to sleep it off. I threw up around 13 times during the night and have videos outside the club where I’m awake but non responsive and can only answer yes or no questions with groans. I also have bruises on my legs from where the bouncer (with no “please leave” warning) grabbed me (my legs gave out as I was so ill) and then dragged me across the floor down the stairs and out of the club very aggressively. I remember seeing a girl surrounded by her friends lying out front when I was entering the club and I thought she had just gotten too drunk but now I think she may have been spiked as well.

Had 2 drinks at the bar and only one glass of wine before going to the bar. I don't remember much but I must have realised something was wrong because I just left my male friend who was there with me and tried to run home - at some point though before I left he came outside and must have ordered an uber because I think I remember getting driven home. Then I blacked out again and woke up the next day incredibly confused. I called my boyfriend who actually told me I had called him and couldn't speak and was crying/moaning not making any sense and at that point I remembered laying in the lobby area (for I don't know how long) because I wasn't able to get my key in the door to open it and couldn't stand up... I woke up with an incredibly sore arm and thought I must have fallen in the lobby area or perhaps it was something else.

I was dancing with my friends sipping a drink, and then I woke up on the pavement outside leadmill with a bouncer staring down at me. Bouncer was lovely and went and found my phone because someone had stolen it. Couldn’t see, couldn’t speak, was vomiting, shaking. The worst experience of my life, I have never been so terrified. extremely grateful to the bouncer who helped though

I left my beer for approx 10 minutes and returned to it, I thought it would be fine as it was on a table near my friends. When I returned to it it tasted a bit funny and I didn't have any more after about 5-10 more minutes I felt very odd like I was really flimsy and it felt like my blood felt different. Then I realised my drink may have been messed with so went and smelled it and it smelled kinda chemically, I got several friends to give me their opinion too and we all agreed it didn't smell or taste right at which point I got my friend to take me home it was only approximately 10pm when we left the bar.

Went on a night out with work colleagues as a couple of members of staff were leaving. Met at red lion, ordered one rum and coke. Weird man sitting at the bar kept trying to get my attention. I don’t even remember finishing my drink. I remember nothing after this point. From what I’ve heard from other people I could barely stand up on the dance floor, I was kissing random people and apparently I had to be carried outside by staff. According to someone I know the staff just left me on the floor outside. I don’t recall what happened after this as there’s about an hour lost where no one seems to know what happened to me. Somehow ended up outside my exes house, him and his friend said I was like a dead weight completely passed out on their front door step, they had to grab me by my legs and shoulders and carry me upstairs. Ex said I wasn’t moving and he thought I was dead. Woke up the next day with a pounding headache, heart palpitations, throwing up loads of foam and not remembering anything that happened.

Went on a girls weekend holiday to Brighton, found a cool drum and bass event online at this club called Volks so decided to go there first night. As we were predrinking I was the least drunk out of my group, making sure everyone was ready on time and hurrying them up as we walked down the promenade. Got to Volks, by this point I was basically sober because my friends took ages to walk down the seafront, ordered a rum and coke and a bottle of hooch for my first drinks. Noticed at the bar some weird man trying to get my attention but I ignored him. Kept an eye on my drinks at all possible times as this guy was giving me weird vibes but must’ve looked away for a couple of seconds to tap my card. Started dancing and noticed him hovering near the dancefloor by one of the pillars watching my group. After a while noticed my rum was extremely foamy and had white chunks floating in the bottom of the glass however at this point I’d already drank 3/4 of it so thought may as well finish it because I felt fine. Big mistake. After about half an hour whatever it was hit me like a train and I was a sloppy mess, eyes rolling in the back of my head, could barely stand, slurred speech. Luckily I have done drugs in the past so I was managing to fight it for a period of time, in which my friends and another group of girls helped me and we identified the man who was now speaking to a girl who looked much younger than me, she looked freshly 18 and I’m 24 so they intervened and got a manager before she got spiked also. The manager told us to come inside as they were going to check the cctv to confirm, and as we were waiting for him my friend was holding me up and the bouncer stormed over and told us to get out because I was ‘too drunk’ and I basically had to sloppily argue the case that I’d been spiked and that the manager knows and I’m waiting for the cctv confirmation. The bouncer apologised and took us to a separate outdoor seating area in which the woman on the door and manager came over and confirmed the man had spiked me and that they’d removed him from the club, the ticket lady on the door also said he’d made weird sexual comments towards her too. The bouncer waited with us while my friend called us a taxi and helped me back to our hotel. When we got back I apparently stripped naked in front of her, still slurring and dizzy, nearly hit my head off the bunk bed frame and then when I was trying to sleep I kept having a choking sensation and felt like I was falling and spiralling and I woke up repeatedly crying and trying to ring my boyfriend at 5am because I thought I was dying. Next day had wobbly sore muscles in my legs, pounding headache, horrible internal vibration feeling and pounding heart, was short of breath the whole day. Continued with my holiday despite this as didn’t want to ruin it for my friends so just pushed through it although looking back I was such a state I did probably need the hospital.

Was at a dnb event drinking a pint of dark fruits cider and noticed it was making me feel really weird so I stopped half way. I had only drank 2 ciders before this. Prior to this I was waiting near the toilets for my friend by myself and an older man (40s/50s) accosted me and attempted to kiss me and grope me but I rejected him and moved away. After a while I noticed my pint had an odd large foamy layer on top and had started to taste bitter just like the last time I got spiked a year ago (definitely not the head of the pint as it had been a while since I’d purchased it and the bubbles should’ve gone down by then). Also had recently watched the new Dahmer show on Netflix and remembered the scene where the victim asks what’s in his drink as it’s really foamy, and is told that it’s probably just dish soap, which made me realise mine looked exactly like that too. Told my friend what happened, tipped the other half of the drink down the toilet, carried on dancing at the dnb event feeling increasingly weird. Didn’t purchase any further drinks after this. Noticed the older man hovering alone near the speakers near where me and my friends were dancing. My other friend comes up to me and says she thinks she’s also been spiked. We leave the event and sat on the kerb waiting for taxi. A couple come up to us and ask if we’re okay, they assume I’m on drugs and I replied I don’t do drugs. Woke up next morning with pounding headache, loss of feeling in legs, wobbly, very numb legs, and that horrible internal vibration feeling and pounding heartbeat that I had last time I got spiked, didn’t feel like I’d consumed alcohol at all. Wore off after a days recovery.

Hey, I saw your recent post about sharing spiking experiences while also seeing you visited Salford Students Union, which is where I got spiked at Christmas time, so wanted to share my story… it was an event for Christmas so I was really excited for it, I had only had two drinks before then completely blacking out, I can’t remember the night after drinking my second drink. The man who spiked me didn’t even attend the university so shouldn’t have even been allowed at the event but due to the lack of security IDing people at the door, non students easily walked in and the man was a lot older than me and sat with me and my friends for the entirety of the night even though we did not know who he was… at 8am the next day I woke up having thrown up all over myself and my bed and couldn’t lower my heartbeat, I couldn’t walk properly or stand, and was shaking non stop. An hour later I was taken to hospital where I had tests done to check there was no severe damage.. as I suffer from anxiety as well I questioned myself for so long and blamed myself, thinking, I should have looked after my drink more etc. It was such a scary event and the next day was probably the worst I have ever felt, I no longer drink since this happened as I fear not being able to be completely conscious to keep an eye on my drink and people around me. It is horrible how common this is, I never want to feel like that again, it has affected me still to this day, and am still struggling to get past it.. so Thankyou for providing this platform for people to share there stories :)
