We are committed to raising awareness and fostering transparency on critical issues that are often overlooked in society.

Our mission is to empower all spaces to take meaningful actions that contribute to safer, more inclusive environments. By equipping individuals and organisations with the knowledge and tools to recognise and intervene in instances of inappropriate or harmful behaviour, we aim to prevent harm and promote greater social responsibility through our effective ally model of intervention.

To achieve this, we often collaborate with educational organisations across various sectors to raise awareness about critical issues that often go unaddressed. One such partnership was with The Staying Safe Programme, which is committed to addressing under-discussed topics within the student community. We worked closely with Professor Adam Winstock (Honorary Clinical Professor at University College London), the Founder of the Staying Safe Programme and the Global Drug Survey to film our piece. Adam is passionate about evidence-based and user-focussed education and support, and therefore is wholly aligned with our brand values.

In our collaboration with The Staying Safe Programme, we aimed to create educational resources that would resonate deeply with students. Our work focused on developing e-learning video resources designed to educate students on challenging topics, including grooming, controlling relationships, and the unique challenges faced by the LGBTQIA+ community, particularly LGBTQIA+ women who use drugs.

Key areas of focus included:

Supporting the LGBTQIA+ Community: As always, we used insights from our community’s experiences to lead the content of our film by running a survey. We used statistics, data and real life experiences to create resources tailored for LGBTQIA+ women experiencing drug use. These resources go beyond harm reduction, offering guidance and community-led insights to help keep individuals safe. Topics covered included the specific ways drug use can impact bisexual and lesbian women, the intersection of drug use and sex, barriers to treatment, and how to seek help for oneself or others. Our survey data showed us that 43% of our community think that drug use is perceived to be different for bisexual and lesbian women, and within the past year, drug use amongst lesbian and bisexual women is more than four times as high at 23%, whilst it sits at 5% for heterosexual women. We ensured we covered the importance of empowering, open and non-judgemental conversations with people experiencing harm to ensure that they feel supported rather than alienated.
Identifying and Addressing Grooming and Controlling Relationships: Together with The Staying Safe Programme, we developed content to help students identify the characteristics of controlling relationships, grooming, and other forms of sexual assault. This included defining these behaviours, recognizing warning signs within the student community, and understanding who may be at risk. We also provided actionable steps for individuals who are concerned about themselves or others, ensuring that students are equipped to respond appropriately if someone confides in them about being groomed. Our film will assist in ensuring that people are aware of how to be effective allies to people experiencing abuse, whether this be domestic, grooming or both, by applying the feelings and experiences of victims to guide listeners in their response to disclosures or suspicions.

Through our collaboration, we successfully brought to life e-learning resources that will play a crucial role in supporting the student community. These resources are designed not only to educate but also to empower students to identify vulnerabilities in themselves and those around them. By addressing these difficult topics, we hope to foster a safer, more informed student environment.
